Modern Ekklesia.

In ancient Greece, the ekklesia was not just any gathering — it was the assembly of citizens called together with purpose, to deliberate and decide. The same word was chosen by the early church to describe a community called out for something greater than themselves. Both meanings live in what we do.

Where it begins — 300 BCE, Athens

In 300 BCE, a merchant from Cyprus named Zeno of Citium stood beneath the open columns of the Stoa Poikile — the Painted Porch — and began teaching a radical idea: that the most powerful force in the world is not wealth, status, or talent. It is clarity of thought, applied with purpose.

His students became known as Stoics — named after the porch where they gathered. The ideas they discussed beneath those columns would go on to shape Marcus Aurelius, Enlightenment philosophy, and the way the best modern leaders think about business.

ColabHub is that gathering rebuilt for the age of AI.
